About Us

Ganjdundwara College, Ganjdundwara has the proud privilege to be the first degree college of district Etah / Kasganj and has its own pride of place in the world of education. It was established in1958 by A.S.H.P. Association , Ganjdundwara (Etah) with the inspiration and special efforts of three great personalities , Shri Shashi Kant Bhatnagar , the then District Magistrate of Etah , the then President of A.S.H.P. Association , Late Shri Mewa Ram Gupta , Advocate and Late Shri Sohan Lal ji , Advocate , Etah. Initially, the District Magistrate of Etah was the ex officio President of the College Managing Committee but later, Shri Kalka Prasad Bhatnagar , Ex Vice Chancellor, Agra University, Agra and thereafter, Shri Paripurnanand Verma graced the prestigious seat and made invaluable contribution in the development of the College.
Undergraduate classes in the faculties of Arts and Science were initiated in 1958 and 1964 respectively whereas those in the faculty of Education (B.Ed.) got introduced in 1959. To promote education at Post Graduate level in the remote area of Ganjdundwara, M.Sc.classes in Maths and Chemistry were commenced in 1980 and in the same year, Classes in M.A. Political Science were also started. M.Sc. Classes in two other subjects Zoology and Physics, were opened in 1994 and 1998 respectively. As a vocational course, the college has been successfully running Diploma in Library and Information Science since 1990. Classes in P.G. Diploma in Computer Programming and B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry were given a go in 1997. Among other vocational courses, classes in B.Sc. Computer Science and Functional English in B.A. were brought into existence in 1997 and the three year B.B.A. course was begun in 2000. Ganjdundwara College, Ganjdundwara is the only College of dist. Kasganj and the erstwhile Etah district in which quality education in the faculties of Arts and Science, both at U.G. and P.G. level, and that of Education is provided simultaneously to the students under one roof. The college has a double storeyed building having 45 spacious rooms as well as well-furnished lecture theatres and well-equipped laboratories. Classes in the faculty of Arts are held in the new campus situated across the railway track comprising 14 class rooms. The College library with its magnificent well-furnished building is one of the best libraries of the region having a large collection of books. It caters to the needs of thousands of the students. The double storeyed Boys’ hostel of the college, situated beside the teachers’ colony, provides boarding to more than 250 students. There is a separate Girls’ hostel also in the college located in close proximity of the teachers’ colony. The large play ground of the college situated beside the railway track, provides sporting facilities to the students. The college gymnasium, well equipped with modern gadgets, is situated at the eastern corner of the play ground.
The college has made great progress under the watchful patronage of the College Managing Committee and the Principal. The college is situated in the south west direction of the town amid the enchanting greenery on both sides of the railway track. Away from the din of the town, the atmosphere of the college is entirely suitable for study.
